High heel hustlin'

It is nice to make money. It is nice to make money with things you have no more use of. It is nice to make money so easily on the internet...I know what this sounds like but I am talking about my still ongoing, ongrowing ebay business. What's not so nice are the ridiculous questions that I am now confronted with on a daily basis. 'Are they pointy or round or like cowboy boots?', 'How many times have you worn them before and do they still smell?', 'How high is the heel because I am not sure if I can walk in them' and my personal fav 'Do they make a squeaky sound?' THANK GOD I worked in customer care before and know how to answer this kind of customer query: 'I am happy to inform you that they do not squeak to my knowledge. The sole is harder than rubber and less bouncy. If anything they make a subtle 'click clack' sound.' Schuht. Me. Now!

Would you rather be UGGly or cold?

I don't know about the rest of the world, but London is the coldest place I can imagine at the moment. Therefore my options are limited if I want to have feet that do not resemble popsicles or look like I tied some kittens around my ankles. I was even contemplating - SHOCK! HORROR! - to purchase a pair of the most overpriced, visually unpleasing but admittedly warm and fuzzy UGG boots. I changed my mind though shortly after discovering that they still are what they sound like. A few of my favourites...

Strut your feathers!

I love feathers and fur as much as the next peta-antivist, leather is an important factor in terms of the quality for designer products, but I am not quite sure how to feel about those examples straight from a David Attenborough special, that I found on one of my friend's facebook wall.

But I had a little stalk (animal joke) online and found some quite interesting species (more animal jokes) from the kingdom (god, I'm on fire) of the Stiletto Heelius Unwearablex. I do not have proof of what Micheal Kors and Nicholas Kirkwood were thinking exactly, but it looks to me as they were very in touch with their animal instincts (alright, I stop).

These boots are made for sexing

Did I mention I have a thing for kinky shoes? And on my quest for the perfect stripper heel I came across a few very special models that I did not have the guts to buy but would definitely consider wearing if I find a willing donator. Can you say foot fetish sugar daddy? No seriously, can you say that three times in a row really fast. I can't. Does not hold me back from showing you my latest find though.

How amazing are they? Please do yourself and the freak in you a favour and look at the rest of very appealing footwear and weird sex accessoires here

Have style at your feet...

Don't get me wrong, I love living in one of the most expensive cities on the planet but every now and then a gurrrl's gotta werrrk to get a little bit closer to her dreams. And because I do definitely not mean that in a Pretty Woman kind of way - although her boots were pretty amazing - I have decided to sell a few of my basically unworn treasures on a platform (shoe joke) that I use on a regular bases: ebay.

It was not easy to decide which ones will have to go first but you have to lose some to win some, right? And rest assured that I am working on stocking up on more extravagant art pour les feet as we speak. In the meantime if you fancy spending some dough and helping a sister out compete in a fair bidding war on ebay - account courtesy of my flatmate Jonathan.

A Cinderella story gone wrong

I have no exact memory of when my complicated relationship with shoes began but we hit it off hard from the beginning. The accumulation of pretty much the same 3 styles - black flats, platform high heels and biker boots - grew and decreased in my teenage years but never dropped under the 50 mark I'm sure. And it went downhill from there. As soon as I moved out to go to University (totally worked out for me, the three lectures I actually went to each week were very useful) and could not feel the judging eyes of my mother on my back, I let my footwear freak flag fly.

Being exposed to a wider variety of fashion choices and cheap turkish shoe shops in Berlin, the collection steadily expanded. Not able to fit in only one room any more, the parts of the population had to be relocated - much to the amusement of my friends and many first time visitors - to the living room and corridor of my rather spacious 2 bedroom apartment as it can be seen here.

Now being in London the situation slightly changed due to lack of space and a decrease in liquidity. Still, I have managed to gather quite a nice selection including a pair of black wedged Alaïa over the ankle boots, Balenciaga cut out boots, the Sonia Rykiel for h&m black patent wedges, my favourite lace up block heeled ankle boots from Bertie and countless Jeffrey Campbell numbers that I love and wear a lot.

As rational as that may sound I wouldn't even dare to count the shoe related posts on my facebook wall let alone the ones of my friend's. Because I am way too involved to just look for myself, when a particular pair reminds me of someone, I share the love. That's just the kinda girl I am. I m aware that even considering to buy a size that is not yours just for the thought of possessing them is insane and I was able to stop myself in the past but now with this little business idea on my hands there will be now more excuses. Bye bye voice of reason that oddly sounds very similar to my mother's...

SOS means save our soles.

Whilst writing this very first entry on my new blog - only a few minutes old - another first is to be seen outside my bedroom window. Little fluffy snow flakes are making their journey down and land gently on the cold London ground. I definitely need another cup of tea as it is freezing in here - me still wrapped in my blanket, wearing not one, not two but three pairs of socks.

I cannot explain why this idea only occurred to me last night but I will from now on dedicate my life to shoes. People who know me would probably now reply in confusion 'Is this not what you are doing already?!' and they would be half right, as I now decided to share my ridiculous obsession with others. And if I make a few bucks out of what I love, even better.

This is, or will be, not only a blog with pictures of nice footwear but also a diary of rare finds (I spend waaaay too many hours on ebay), ideas for the ultimate shoe and a platform (shoe joke) to get your hands on some really wicked one offs.
